Jinpei Jiba (寺刃ジンペイ Jiba Jinpei) is one of the main protagonists in the Y School Heroes anime, and one of the main protagonists in the Y School Heroes Movie. He is a member of the YSP Club at Y-Academy along with Sandayu Koma, Mataro Tamada, Mera Raido, and Fubuki Himekawa. He can transform into Yo-kai Heroes using the YSP Watch, UR Watch, or Majin Watch. He is the reincarnated form of Jibanyan after an unspecified amount of time following the Shadowside anime.

Design
Jinpei has a red hairstyle with cat ear-like tufts above his ears, along with a single strand of hair that stands up in the center at the top of his head. His eyes are circles, much like Jibanyan's. He commonly wears Y-Academy's middle school uniform for the YSP standard, which is a dark gray uniform with gold buttons, and a red accent for the collar, pockets, and inside of the uniform. His shoes are white with a red stripe at the bottom, and two red straps on the top. He also wears an eartip gifted to him by Ms. Enra, which allows anyone with it to communicate across long distances.
He first wears the YSP Watch, given to him by Ms. Enra, then the UR Watch, given to him by Kuka Nanakumo, and now wears the Majin Watch, given to him by Kuka Nanakumo.
In Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life, Jinpei has both chibi model parts and a normal sized model.
Abilities
Jinpei is one of the lucky few with YSP, and can harness it to fight better in battle by enhancing his punches, kicks, or other actions.
He can also transform into Kengo Benimaru with Wampus, Wild Boy with Goromi, Blue Moon with Bluepon, and Earth Walker or Earth Walker NOA with Mikettio. He can also transform into Black Cat, or Shikkokumaru with the Nura Kimono from Master Nurari.

Relationships
Koma is a fellow member of the YSP Club, and Jinpei's best friend since elementary school. Even before obtaining YSP Watches, they would team up together and fight in sync using YSP. He can transform into Little Kommander, Little Kommander Ace, Zashiki Kommander, and helps Jinpei transform into Earth Walker NOA Armored.
Mataro is a fellow member of the YSP Club, and Jinpei's first new friend at Y-Academy. Jinpei likes to rap or play pranks a lot around him, but treasures him as one of his best friends. He can transform into Shining Boy, T-Dine, Last T-Dine, and MT Bouncer.
Mera is a fellow member of the YSP Club. He was originally working for the School Mafia, until Jinpei became friends with him during the course of the Y School Heroes Movie. He can transform into Shishi O and Namahage O.
Fubuki is a fellow member of the YSP Club. She originally joined the YSP Club mistaking it for a Dreamy Girl's Powered Suit Club, but decided to stick around anyways. She can transform into Clock Lady and Mermaid Lady.
Kyubi is a member of the Tennis Club, but often helps out the YSP Club when dealing with Onryo or Aliens. He and Jinpei both share a desire to be with Ms. Enra. He can transform into Ninetail and Tengu the Nine.
Ranto is a member of the UFO Club and part of the Student Council. He was quite cold to Jinpei at first, but started to warm up to him as they hung out and fought battles together. He and Jinpei frequently fight Aliens together. He can transform into Mist Shadow, Deep Shadow Galaxy, Deep Shadow Zodiac, and Deep Shadow Ancient.
Chiaki is part of the School Mafia. He first fought Jinpei and his friends when they met, until he realized they shared a common goal to defeat Aliens. He can transform into Sky Snaker and Rokuro Rocks.
Nozuchika is part of the School Mafia. He first fought Jinpei and his friends when they met, until Chiaki decided to team up with them. He can transform into The Viper and Bi Kapper.
Emma is part of the Naginata Club. Jinpei rescued her from Sword Tower when they first met, and she developed a crush on him. Even after learning that Jinpei was into older women, she vowed to grow up to be an older woman that Jinpei would love someday.
Kuka Nanakumo was formerly part of Y Ken before it was shut down by the Student Disciplinary Committee. She created the YSP Watch, YSP Watch Zero, a YSP Watch Viper Connector, Shining Watch, UR Watch, UR Watch GAI, and the Majin Watch after receiving blueprints for it from Lime. She's always researching and trying to help to let the YSP Club get any advantage over Aliens that they can. She can transform into Momonga Lady.
Lime is from Y-High School. They first met in the hallway by accident, and initially bonded due to looking nearly identical. He can transform into Ashura Gilfer.
Kinya is Y-Academy's headmaster. He directly supports the YSP Club and gives them missions or mysteries to handle from time to time.
Ms. Enra is Y-Academy's nurse. She directly supports the YSP Club and gives them tasks to do from time to time. She was the one who gave out YSP Watches to various students, and gave Jinpei the eartip so that they could communicate easier. Jinpei is madly in love with her.
Mr. Usumizawa is Jinpei's teacher. He secretly supports the YSP Club behind the scenes, helps them grow stronger, and gives them advice. Jinpei can call upon him in a spirit form while transformed as Earth Walker or Earth Walker NOA for guidance by saying "Okay, Haruhiko."
Wampus is the first Yo-kai that followed Jinpei around and allows him to transform into Kengo Benimaru. He was originally in the third Y Circle, but escaped and wandered around Y-Academy. He initially followed Mataro around, until Jinpei and Koma defeated him. Jinpei usually summons him to transform into Kengo Benimaru until later in the series.
Goromi is a Yo-kai that became Jinpei's friend after being freed from the first Y Circle and allows him to transform into Wild Boy. Jinpei summons her a lot to transform into Wild Boy until later in the series. She can also transform into a shield to help Jinpei even while transformed as another Yo-kai Hero.
Bluepon is a Yo-kai that followed Jinpei around after being freed from the second Y Circle and allows him to transform into Blue Moon. He was originally in a small, slime-like form, until he grew bigger by eating Mystery Medals that the YSP Club received after solving a group of unnamed mysteries around Y-Academy. Jinpei doesn't summon him for transformation often, but he doesn't appear to mind until later in the series. He can also transform into a sword to help Jinpei even while transformed as another Yo-kai Hero.
Mikettio is an evil Yo-kai that became friends with Jinpei near the end of the series and allows him to transform into Earth Walker or Earth Walker NOA. He initially tries to kill Jinpei so that he can be truly free, but the presence of Mikettio's Collar, along with his split forms, Wampus, Gorimi, and Bluepon, made it very difficult for him to kill Jinpei. He starts to see why Jinpei grew on Wampus, Goromi, and Bluepon, and even does favors for him every now and then.
