Natsume Amano (天野ナツメ, Amano Natsume) is the main protagonist of the Shadowside animation series as well the protagonist of the fourth movie Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King.

She is a member of the Yo-kai Detective Team alongside with Touma Tsukinami and Akinori Arihoshi, that investigates strange occurrences in their hometown caused by Yo-kai. She is the daughter of the former Yo-kai Watch holder Nathan Adams and Katie Forester and the older sister of Keisuke Amano. Natsume is the current holder of the Yo-kai Watch Elder.

Design

Natsume Amano is a young girl with dark-brown colored eyes and brown hair. Similar to her great grandmother when she was young, she wears her hair in braids.

In Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King she is mostly seen in her high school uniform consisting of a blue blazer with yellow buttons. Beneath a pale yellow vest with gray lines. A white shirt with a punk bowtie wrapped around it. Black skirt and kneesocks and brown loafers.

In Phantom Gangleader she wears a t-shirt with red sleeves, and white body. The red sleevs on her t-shirt contains a white stripe. On her t-shirt, there is also a black-colored unindentified text or logo. Further, she wears blue ripped jeans with the inside of the jeans being ligh-blue. Below she wears black socks and wears red colored sneakers.

In The Bicycle Ridden by the Dead she wears a sleeveless shirt with liberty and blue colored stripes. Further she wears a red skirt with white sandels.

She wears her Yo-kai Watch Elder on the left side of her arm.

Etymology

"Natsume" (ナツメ) is a Japanese name that can be taken from "natsume" (Japanese: 棗 jujube), among other things. Her last name "Amano" means "heaven field".
