Adoption

Hello, I am interested in adopting the wiki. I got interested in the series a while back, and I saw there was a wiki on Miraheze, but it was inactive. I only saw one bureaucrat, so if you are still interested in the wiki, please comment anything here. ZeusDeeGoose (talk) 16:56, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

still interested. but forgotten to open it. if you can help out, that'll be great! KidProdigy (talk) 22:35, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Alright, thanks for letting me know. ZeusDeeGoose (talk) 23:19, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

However, I can give you rights if you are still interested in contributing to the wiki? KidProdigy (talk) 14:12, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

Name looks familiar

Were you from Pokemon Wiki on Fandom? I've seen it while browsing around (as I been reusing some of the older templates & whatnot for a wiki I'm doing here). I won't advertise it out of courtesy (I felt bad I did to soon on ZeusGoose's talk) but I just wanted to let know how the username came across as familiar. Well, yes. I was a contributor at Pokémon Wiki, but quit due to something. I didn't like wasting my time and efforts there. KidProdigy (talk) 13:58, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Prob because Bulbapedia is extremely ahead, even to this day, I'm guessing Bawitdaba (talk) 14:02, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Nah, not because of Bulbapedia. My efforts and all was acknowledged, but it was halted when I wanted to become an admin to help out even more. But, mostly for Pokémon info in detail, I rather go to Bulbapedia. KidProdigy (talk) 14:07, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
I'm mostly a Mario guy, although I have played earlier Pokémon titles (ty for using accent e, even in talk pages :P). I have told people I like the Fandom one more, as it appear to allow for more flexibility in style. It seems to be transforming into a Bulbapedia Lite at this point. There have been several attempts at making alt Pokemon wiki, but all of them ride off the coattails of Bulbapedia so I decided I do one that goes outside the box. It's a mountain of work for me ahead, but ultimately fun of wiki editing is what matters to me :P Bawitdaba (talk) 14:24, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Bulbapedia is probably more used widely. Maybe they also compete with one another, which may be another thing. I liked the coding part on wiki, but i forgot about it somewhat, which is a good thing to learn some things that make a template functional and such. KidProdigy (talk) 16:49, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
Older revisions of Pokemon Wiki articles -- I've seen them use messy code from some of the Pokemon infoboxes and sprite templates -- like a toccolours. Forgot to ask, may I show you how I handle an article on a Pokemon? It's done in a unique way. I'm also very glad Miraheze maintains a Monaco skin, as I've been using that for wikis that I'm involved with, though I guess not many aside from 2008-2010 Wikia editors would have an appreciation for it, I'm guessing Bawitdaba (talk) 17:30, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
I never understood why, but you could implement that easily and you got the color. I used toccolours before, but that took a large amount of wasted time that I did something else that the entire color was there. Yeah! I remember the Monaco skin, I actually don't use it because I do like Vector too. That they changed from Monaco to Oasis was really the reason a lot of wiki's went independent if I could remember. I believed 2008-2010 was Monobook, I think. But, yeah, I am always interested in seeing other's templates. You can show me, would be happy to see it. KidProdigy (talk) 17:36, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
