Natsume Amano (天野ナツメ Amano Natsume) is the main protagonist of the Shadowside animation series as well the protagonist of the fourth movie Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King.
She is a member of the Yo-kai Detective Team alongside with Touma Tsukinami and Akinori Arihoshi, that investigates strange occurrences in their hometown caused by Yo-kai. She is the daughter of the former Yo-kai Watch holder Nathan Adams and Katie Forester* and the older sister of Keisuke Amano. Natsume is the current holder of the Yo-kai Watch Elder.

Story
The Return of the Oni King
Yo-kai Watch Shadowside
After the events in The Return of the Oni King, Natsume first appears in Phantom Gangleader, were she is seen leaving her home to go to the Yo-kai Detective Agency not noticing that her younger brother was following her. Once arrived at the agency, she learns about the Phantom Gangleader and after she discovered that her younger brother was following her, she, Touma and Akinori are leaving the agency to find the Phantom Gangleader. After they have found him, she summons Jibanyan and alongside Slimamander the two fought with the Phantom Gangleader. After that the Phantom Gangleader left, they arrived at a park were she was trying to summon a Yo-kai to aid help to the Phantom Gangleader until her watch floats off to Keisuke Amano. She gives Keisuke's Ark and tells him to summon Komasan and tells him to unlock its shadowside. After the defeat of the unindentified Yo-kai, the next day at school, Natsume's class receives a new student.

Etymology
"Natsume" (ナツメ) is a Japanese name that can be taken from "natsume" (Japanese: 棗 jujube), among other things. Her last name "Amano" means "heaven field".
Trivia
- Her second voice actress, Aoi Yuki, also portrays the character of Hailey Anne in the Japanese version of the original Yo-kai Watch animation series.
- Her first name Natsume is close to the localized name of her father Keita Amano, which is Nathan Adams.
