Once arrived at the agency, she alongside with Touma are informed by Akinori about the Phantom Gangleader. After learning what the Yo-kai does and what he have done, Akinori spotted Keisuke and they head outside. She is confronted by Keisuke and reveals to both Touma and Akinori that Keisuke is her younger brother. She noticed that Keisuke has her watch and asks him why he has it. Keisuke explains it to her which Akinori asks him to join their agency. Horrified, Keisuke runs away which the group then focuses on finding the Phantom Gangleader. Once searching for him, Natsume comes up with the idea that Akinori pretends that he beats up Touma, which they are confronted by a woman that gives Akinori a leek to hit Touma. The group then hears a scream and runs off to the locations were they were hearing it and sees the Phantom Gangleader attacking a boy. Natsume summons Jibanyan that transform into its Shadow form after Natsume switched the Ark in her watch. Jibanyan fights the Phantom Gangleader alongside Slimamander until he dissapears. During the evening, the group arrives at the park and sees that the Phantom Gangleader is fighting another Yo-kai. Natsume tries to summon a Yo-kai to assist the Phantom Gangleader, but it flies off to Keisuke. She gives Keisuke Komasan's Ark and instructs him how he uses it and again after he summons Komasan. After the Phantom Gangleader gives Keisuke his Ark, they walk back home again asking why he doesn't join the detective agency but runs off. At school, Natsume receives a new classmate. |

Natsume Amano (天野ナツメ Amano Natsume) is the main protagonist of the Shadowside animation series as well the protagonist of the fourth movie Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King.
She is a member of the Yo-kai Detective Team alongside with Touma Tsukinami and Akinori Arihoshi, that investigates strange occurrences in their hometown caused by Yo-kai. She is the daughter of the former Yo-kai Watch holder Nathan Adams and Katie Forester* and the older sister of Keisuke Amano. Natsume is the current holder of the Yo-kai Watch Elder.
Design
Natsume Amano has the appearance of a young girl with a pale skin color, dark brown colored eyes and brown braided hair which is similar to her great grandmother in her younger years. She was first shown in Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: The Return of the Oni King with her school uniform, that consists of blue blazer with yellow buttons with beneath a pale yellow vest with gray lines and a white shirt with a pink bowtie wrapped around her collar. She wears a black skirt and black kneesocks with brown loafers. During the summer period, she doesn't wear her blazer or her pale yellow vest with gray lines, but she wears a white t-shirt that consists of a pocket on the left side of her chest and white buttons, with the t-shirt being tucked into her skirt.
She is also seen wearing other clothing in her leisure, as seen in Phantom Gangleader were she wears a t-shirt with red sleeves that contains white stripes and the body being white colored with a black-colored heart symbol that represents her mother Katie in the times that she was young. Further she wears blue ripped short jeans with the inside being light-blue. Below she wears black socks and red colored sneakers. However, in The Bicycle Ridden by the Dead she is seen wearing a liberty colored sleeveless shirt with blue stripes with below a red skirt with white sandals. In Red Head the Plunder Demon She wears a red short sleeved vest with a white colored bowtie logo that is open from beneath and closed togheter on the top, and beneath her vest she wears a short sleeved white-colored skirt with the colar being rigged. Below she wears white socks and red colored ballerina shoes.
She wears her Yo-kai Watch Elder on the left side of her arm.

Etymology
"Natsume" (ナツメ) is a Japanese name that can be taken from "natsume" (Japanese: 棗 jujube), among other things. Her last name "Amano" means "heaven field".
Trivia
- Her second voice actress, Aoi Yuki, also portrays the character of Hailey Anne in the Japanese version of the original Yo-kai Watch animation series.
- Her first name Natsume is close to the localized name of het father Keita Amano, which is Nathan Adams.
